Terms of Service

Last Updated: 10/13/2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tridentu 2 Linux distribution and related services (collectively, the "App"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tridentu 2 Linux ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using our App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

  1. "User," "you," and "your" refer to the individual accessing or using the App.
  2. "Content" refers to any text, images, videos, audio, or other material that appears on or through the App.

4. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our software or Google's API requirements. Any updates will be posted publicly on our website. Your continued use of the Google integration feature after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

5. Privacy and Permissions

Our Privacy Policy describes how your data is handled. This application requests local system storage permissions exclusively to sync and display your Google Drive files within the local file manager. All authentication tokens and data tracking are managed directly through your local device settings and Google's official privacy configurations. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.

6. Open Source Licensing and Visual Branding Reservation

A. Software Code Licensing:

The underlying source code of Tridentu 2 Linux is distributed under free and open-source frameworks. Standalone utility applications and individualized components are governed by the BSD license. Core structural, shared, and non-individualized distribution sources are packaged under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Your rights to modify, copy, and redistribute the code are fully protected and governed by these respective open-source licenses.

B. Proprietary Branding and Artwork Assets:

The open-source code permissions do NOT extend to the project's visual identity. The official Tridentu 2 Linux name, project logos, promotional banners, and custom distribution graphics are the exclusive creative intellectual property of the author. Downstream forks, community spins, or derivative operating systems are legally permitted to redistribute the underlying software code, but they are explicitly required to completely strip out and replace the official project logo and banners before publication. This reservation prevents user confusion regarding official project alignment, endorsement, or origin.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

Tridentu 2 Linux contains integrations and links to third-party services (such as Google APIs) that are not owned or controlled by the project. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, uptime, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. You acknowledge and agree that Tridentu 2 Linux shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage, data discrepancy, or account actions taken by third-party providers in connection with your use of this software.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TRIDENTU 2 LINUX DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE IS COMPLETELY ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF COMPONENT DEFECTS, AND DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR INTEGRATION ERRORS INCURRED DURING NETWORK TRANSMISSIONS.

17. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TRIDENTU 2 LINUX OR ITS AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA LOSS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

18. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable by a court of law, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, alongside the official Project Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tridentu 2 Linux regarding the utilization of our integrated Google Cloud API features, superseding any prior verbal or written agreements regarding this feature set.

20. Waiver and Severability

The failure of the project to enforce any specific right or provision outlined in these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of those rights. If any single provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that specific provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.

21. Acceptable Use and Anti-API Abuse Policy

The integrated cloud and Google Drive connectivity features in Tridentu 2 Linux utilize shared distribution API keys to facilitate client-side routing. To protect the service availability for the entire community, you explicitly agree not to engage in API abuse, which includes but is not limited to: automated spamming, excessive rate-limiting extraction, denial-of-service (DoS) attempts, or modifying the software to bypass Google's master developer metrics. While the underlying operating system code remains permanently free to run under its open-source frameworks, the author reserves the absolute right to terminate, blacklist, or rotate the shared API credentials for any local instance found to be compromising the project's cloud infrastructure or violating Google’s Developer Policies.

22. Termination of API Services

We reserve the right to suspend, terminate, or restrict access to the pre-configured Google API services and cloud integration features built into Tridentu 2 Linux at our sole discretion, without notice, if a user's local instance engages in API abuse, denial-of-service attempts, or behavior that violates Google's master Developer Policies. While the core underlying operating system code remains permanently active under its open-source licenses, abuse of the shared distribution API keys will result in the immediate revocation of cloud connectivity features for that system instance.

23. Contact Information

If you have any questions or feedback regarding these Terms or the cloud integration features, please contact the project directly at tridentugroup@gmail.com.
